It seems all monsters possess determination because it is a will to live, without a will to live you dont live. That is why Flowey came to life, he was given a will to live. A will to live seems like it is conscience because plants are alive, but lack DT. It may also be that humans have a tiny sliver of magic because originally Toby was going to add a ,a magic button in battles but it was removed.

Maybe,the perserverant human died of lack of resources,by that i mean starvation,dehydration,and maybe infectuous diseases passed on by monsters like froggit

What about gaster? The guy was literally shattered across time in space and he seemed to really care about monsters and they’re happiness. He was literally willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good to stop the core, it seemed like there was going to be a accident in the core and Gastro tried to stop it himself, but it only led to his own demise,That’s and he was literally forgotten by everyone that seems pretty upsetting and tragic to me,And no matter what we do he can never be save or remembered.

What if determination is the physical manifestation of one's belief and will, your desire to walk down a particular path is so strong it lets you deny your own death, in a way the game part makes senseas you're continuing your story even when you die because you'll come back again and again untill you finish what you've started and if you quit? I have a very stupid and unhinged theory aboul cyan soul, but here goes nothing. What if this is actually Frisk? You see, there are two items associated with the said soul, but they do not have any special effects or traits that obviously assign the ribbon to cyan soul, while toy knife and bandage obviously are (and what Frisk is wearing? That's right, the gross bandage!) Frisk does show patience in both genocide and pacifist routes, in quite different ways though. But their personality and even name is overshadowed for most of the game with the exception of pacifist epilogue. What if it was Chara's soul that never died and took control of the last fallen child? Especially since you see Chara's name, stats, and comments on checks in any route. Again, do not take it too seriously, I am just fooling around trying to make best defense for theory even I have little to no faith in.

We never get to meet him throughout the game and he also is forgotten because no one in the game seems to be talking about him and the very few references of him or actually just hidden in the files is something that has always really bothered me about W.D Gaster is seems to be a very important character since he made the core but we never really get to know much about him as a person and we don’t even know if he’s actually connected to papyrus and sans. And we never even get to learn why gaster was so dedicated to science in the first place or if he had any interactions with the seven humans or if he had any interactions with Dr. Alfea the scientist that would ultimately replace him.

While Alphys has never been my favorite character (in the top 3 but not quite number 1) I still feel she is very misunderstood and everyone is always putting her as the bad guy when she did not do anything wrong. She thought the monsters she experimented on were dead (it is implied that monsters are still whole a little bit before turning into dust but still dead) so it was fine, they came back to life and she was like: omg this is great! I have to tell everyone that they are getting their dead relatives back. But they started melting… Asgore never checks on her so he probably didn’t even know Alphys was going into a depression…
